oh my god !!!

happened to read some questions in quora by chance since the questions were very interesting ones.

one question was....How does an atheist define the God(s) that they don't believe in?

i wrote my answer there. further i thought that piece of writing shall be brought here too as i have not had much time to write recently. so... here it goes.....
*************

Every event in the universe has one or more causes and....one or more effects, which in turn become causes for other subsequent events. This continues forever whether there are human beings alive or not. Universe continues to function this way forever.
Generally religious people assume that there is an external agent/power that can influence these causal-effect relationships in favour of/against human beings when pleased/displeased. That external agent has been given the generic identity-god in all religions.
Origins of all religions can be traced to primitive helplessness of humans in the face of dangers posed by nature's elements.
Without any real understanding of the causal-effect relationships of these powerful invincible elements, men chose to subjugate and surrender themselves unto those gods who, people thought, could control these elements. Primitive men thought gods could make elements work in favour of human beings if pleased; else, gods could unleash fury thro elements. Even elements were given the stature of gods/demi-gods; there was, of course, one supreme god with ultimate power over these smaller gods.
Ages ago, men thought that surrendering themselves might please the gods, so that those gods would mean no harm to the surrendered subjects. Or men offered gods some bribe in the name of rituals and offerings begging for something big in return. (Even now men are either afraid of gods or they do pray for favour. Fear and greed are the two emotions are the foundations for acceptance of god.)
As an atheist, i donot believe that such and such a god/power/an agent exists. None whatsoever.
But....... caveat is, everything follows the unverisal law and the causal-relationship cycles that i mentioned at the beginning. If a staunch believer prays intensely to the god, but that doesnot follow these universal laws is doomed. Since there is no god, none can save these gullible when they go against the natural laws.
So, understand these natural laws, and play along; you don’t have to believe in gods. Even if you are a believer, if you play against these laws, you are bound to fail miserable, no matter how strong your belief on gods is. Herein lies the supremacy of universal laws over non-existent gods.
