somewhere in the dry lands of theni district (once proud madurai), aundipatty taluk, in bomminayakkan patty village....the place where i first caught a crab....a place where there were occasional paddy cultivation decades back.... a place which had lost the ground water levels to more than 30 meters from surface levels which was at 10 mts during my schooldays. a place where, with my cousins, scoured for nuts and fruits. the place where the coconut trees stood of which we were were proud. that was the period there were no telephones in that village, very few TVs....no cable TVs....much much more conspicuous.....no mobiles. curious to add, this photo was captured through a mobile.
technology has developed a lot, but nature has lost a lot, so is the life that's intertwined with nature-based cultivation.
