EVRperiyaar was of the idea that, indian society as a whole was not just/fair/capable of treating itself/fellow indians with due respect. he is still right.

but....british people treated everyone equally (equal-slaves). periyar demanded the brits, to give indians a model society in which indians will not turn against fellow indians( based on caste/language/race/gender)
70 years post-independece, there are people to dominate others, in the name of caste/religion/language/race. 70 years later, there are people who think that one language is superior to other languages and that ALLLLL others should learn a language that is spoken by 41% indians as mother tongue.
