கண்மணி அன்போடு......!

the combination of breezy, comfortably cold nights and music seems like an intoxicating mix. sitting on my PC at this late night of 1am, while writing a translated story, i was listening to this song from movie-GUNA.

and...started writing a comment. it got sooooo lengthy; i decided to bring that as another post here. momentarily interrupted typing that original, planned post for few minutes to write this post.

here goes the comment.....

way back in 1992, i was studying in 5th standard in NSHSSchool, theni. stayed in boys' hostel and had a hostel-batch mate rajendra prasad from kombai. this song was his favorite then. but, i could not get it why he liked this song sooooo much that time. lost his contact, but this song always reminds me of him. nowww.... in 2015, half an hour past midnight in this dec-24th, im listening to this song 8th time in a row as im writing this comment. after these many years .....now i realize, this is one of my favorite songs too. the soothing music, simple yet the most expressive lyrics.....! the lover-boy loves her sooooooooooo much, but unable to put allllllllllllllll his love in words! how can u express such a profound, unconditional, excessive love in words?!! seems to me that, this song is an attempt at that. @ 0:08 to 0:11 =kamal looks lost himself in thought ( of himself being accepted as lover, which seems to him an unbelievable fact.) for 3 seconds. then, reiterates HIMSELF("naan") on collecting himself back into dictation( this shifts him to real world, in which his love is indeed approved). all these is expressed in just 3 seconds of body language and facial expressions. moments in which kamal's real acting skills pop up. @ 3:34 to 3:38 = kamal does a kind of kid's dancing...keeping hands stretched out side-wise, waving his torso and head left and right! was this a step adopted to express the ecstasy(from approved love) felt by this immature character!? whoever proposed to include this step is indeed a great master at capturing the emotions of human beings, at least fleetingly! great!

very few moments like these that made me a kamal fan, easily outweighing other disappointments i hav about him. it is moments like these that readily make us forget and forgive some silly mistakes(mistakes because he ignored) of kamal.
