மாசில்வீணையும்.... a beautiful trap!

the imagery evoked by these lines are....tooo beautiful.

மாசில் வீணையும் மாலை மதியமும்
(maasil veeNaiyum maalai madhiyamum)
perfectly tuned veenai*, raising fullmoon at late dusk
*veenai == lyre like musical, string instrument)

வீசு தென்றலும் வீங்கிள வேனிலும்
(veesu thenralum, veengiLa vEnilum)
gentle breeze, long but mild, temperate season

மூசு வண்டறைப் பொய்கையும் போன்றதே......
(moosu vaNdaRaip poikaiyum pOnradhae......)
bees, wasps swarming, ringing waterbody are similar to.......

and the last line-which i hate- becomes beautifully treacherous. treacherous because, it hides the ulterior objective of enslaving a neutral party behind the beautiful veils of comfortable nature, to make innocents fall prey to hinduism or more precisely saivism.

the motive is to make the gullible believe that saivism is a wonderful, beautiful sect.
and...here comes the last line.

ஈசன் எந்தை இணையடி நிழலே.
(eesan endhai iNaiyadi nizhalae.)
the feet of my fatherly god, lord siva.

no doubt. the imagery, similies, metaphors, figurative expressions are all beautiful, but the effects were.....dangerous. dangerous because it helps/ed to strengthen the belief system based on saivism/hinduism. hinduism is inextricably built on inequality, hence we hate it altogether; hence we call it dangerous; hence we call this song treacherous- for standing in support of a system built on inequality.

a beautiful trap!
